AQUARIUS DIVE CLUB NEWSLETTER
APRIL 2010
NEWS FROM THE APRIL MEETING:
We discussed the underwater Easter egg hunt that we held on Sunday, April 11. Thank you for everyone that showed up and to those that participated.
We had two dive club winners:
Keith Emmerton found the most plain eggs at a count of — 38
Leroy Pryor found the most carrots at a count of — 6
Leroy Pryor found the most eggs with blue alligators — 3
They each received an Easter bag full of goodies such as silicone spray, silicone grease, suit slick, Gear clips, and gear ID paint.
We had two non-dive club winners: Christa Martinez found the most large eggs with the blue Bunny in them — 5
the most eggs with blue alligators — 4
And the most tropical fish eggs — 7
Brody Paulo didn’t find the most of any category, but had a total of eggs — 15
Since they were not dive club members, they dove for fun but were not awarded prizes.
Instead of a presentation this month; we discussed where the members might be interested in going for different diving locations. And what other events, outings, and travel adventures we might like to incorporate into our calendar. We had some fantastic ideas and we will do our level best to implement as many as possible. Some of the ideas were as follows:
More lake diving in local lakes that we haven’t gone diving in before.
Local lake dives are good one day outings that most people would be able to make. It wouldn’t be as expensive as driving all the way to Monterey or Fort Bragg. And if there is camping available; those that wanted to spend the whole weekend could or those that only had one day available to them could show up either Saturday or Sunday. This all depends on the location.
Lakes listed were: Scotts Flat, Spaulding, Bowman, Little Grass Valley, Lake Almanor, Sugar Pine. If you have another lake you would like to check out with our group; let us know.
More diving in the Washington area.
We did a trip up to the Edmonds Underwater Park a couple of years ago and only 5 of us could make it. There is the option of driving or flying. There again for those that could have 5 days or six days off you could drive. For those that couldn’t take that much time off, you could fly in and do the diving and fly out for a couple of days.
Pacific Adventures Boat diving.
Which is a boat that dives on the Hood Canal. Kathy, Leroy and Sarah have been on the boat several times and really enjoy it. It is a small six pack boat. There is also shore diving in that area that they have done and they really enjoyed it.
If you could not make the April meeting and you have some idea of where you would like to dive with our dive club; please let us know.
NEXT DIVE CLUB EVENT:
